Albinism is an inherited disease characterized by the absence of melanin in the skin.

Albinism appears in children when there is a genetic combination of recessive genes from parents.

For a child to be albino the parents must be carriers of the genes of albinism or the parents must be albino.

Parents with albinism genes have normal skin color. But if the genes of albinism combine, they may have albino children.

unfortunately, many parents do not have this information. Especially in countries where there are few specialists in genetic counseling before marriage.

Some parents abandon their albino children. They say that his wife betrayed them just because he is not an albino

Last year in Angola, a man abandoned his wife and albino son because he said the son was not his.

The man had normal skin but you carried the albinism gene, as he was not informed about albinism he thought his wife had betrayed him.

We cannot blame you because he was not informed.

I believe he did not abandon his son because he was an albino, but abandoned his wife because he thought it was betrayal.

More information about hereditary diseases in society should be promoted to avoid this type of situation.
